আমাদের দেশে এমন কিছু আছে যা সারা পৃথিবীর মানুষের মন জয় করেছে। যেমন আমাদের তাঁত শিল্প।

এই ঐতিহ্য বাহী শিল্পটি আজ হারিয়ে যেতে বসেছে, আমাদের চোখের সামনে। আমাদের দেশে তাতশিল্প নেই বল্লেই চলে। তবু যদি কারো তাত মিল দেখার ইচ্ছা যাগে যেতে হবে ঢাকার একটু অদূরে সিরাজগন্জে। সেখানেও তেমন ভাল মানের তাত শিল্প গড়ে উঠেনি। মাঝে মাঝে আমি যেতাম সিরাজগন্জ, এক দিন আমার সেই সুভাগ্য হয়েছিল তাত মিল দেখার। তাতীরা কি করে হাতে ভুনে এত সুন্দর কাপড়। প্রথম আমি দেখে অবাক হয়ে গিয়েছিলাম, কি করে তা সম্ভব?

আসলে তাতীদের হাতে আছে এক যাদু যা দিয়ে সব-ই সম্ভব।

ছোট্ট ছোট্ট তাঁত মিল ২/৪/৫ জন তাঁতী ছক ছক শব্দ যেন এক অপূর্ব সুন্দর্য।
